Urea vs Creatinine: what's the difference?

Urea and creatinine are two standard blood markers used to evaluate how well the kidneys are filtering waste products from the body. Urea is generated when the liver metabolizes protein, whereas creatinine is produced continuously by everyday muscle activity.
