ESR vs CRP: what's the difference?

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP) are blood tests commonly used to detect inflammation in the body. While neither test identifies a specific disease on its own, both provide helpful signals that the immune system is responding to an underlying issue. Doctors evaluate these markers alongside symptoms and physical exams to better understand an individual's overall health.
